Pastor Steven Flo’s Biography and Family

About: Pastor Steven Flo has been at Grace Lutheran Church in DeSoto, Missouri, since 1990.

Education: Graduate of Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, with double Bachelor Degrees in Biology and Psychology. (1978) Trinity Lutheran College, Everett, WA, with a Bachelor Degree in Biblical Studies. (1980) Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, IN, with a Master of Divinity Degree in Theology. (1990)

Family: He married his beautiful bride, Kimberly Tarvestad, on October 17th, 1981, in Ada, Minnesota. They have four children whom they love beyond words: Kaari, Kaia, Paul, and John.

The only other word that needs to be said is, “Thank you Lord for shedding your blood for us, the chief of sinners. For by grace we have been saved through faith, and that not of ourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Eph. 2:8-9) And “You, Lord Jesus Christ, have became for us wisdom from God and righteousness and sanctification and redemption that, as it is written, ‘He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.'” (1Cor.1:30-31)

Pastor Flo summarizes his years of ministry at Grace in this way: “And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” (1Cor. 2:1-5)
